New: effeff escape route terminal 1385 with stand-alone function

The effeff 1385 range from ASSA ABLOY can now be employed in stand-alone applications
The new escape door terminal need no longer be networked. Basic configuration of the terminal can be performed by means of a key-operated switch, without a PC or TSB controller. "Further inputs and outputs can be added by connecting an I/O module" explains the Product Manager at ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH, Ulrich Rotenhagen. "With this additional functionality, we can now offer an all-in-one escape door terminal for use both in stand-alone situations and in centrally configured networks connected to a central control and monitoring system."
The 1385 escape door terminal range provides established effeff quality and features which significantly enhance safety in an emergency. Multi-tone sirens and an acoustic signal alert people to danger. They ensure the route to the escape door can also be found more easily in thick smoke or by the visually impaired. The intelligent effeff lighting design also comes into play here: "Super-bright high-performance rows of LEDs form a shape to display the door’s status", adds Rotenhagen. "A long green bar shows the way is clear, while a red diagonal bar shows the route is blocked. The difference in symbols means the door status is immediately clear, even to people who are colour blind".
What is more, the 1385 range of escape door terminals is very flexible. The terminals can be seamlessly integrated into products by the electrical installations and building systems manufacturers Jung and Gira, and thus feature an attractive, comprehensive range of switches. Although based on the 55 series system used by many switch manufacturers, they can also be integrated into other switch ranges. When it comes to operational controls, planners and fitters can choose between the standard key switch model and operation with an industry-standard PIN code module or an RFID module. The 1385 has another advantage – in the new terminal range, the focus is on the essentials. Rotenhagen notes "The controls are already integrated into the emergency switch, meaning the basic model only requires a single installation box when operated by an external authorization device". However, the user can fit up to three installation boxes if required.
The escape door terminal can even easily be installed alongside various monitoring solutions, including tampering contacts. Configuration is activated centrally and need no longer be performed via the sliding switch on each device. To make installation easier, modules are connected using ready-to-fit cables with pin-and-socket connectors. "This makes the process much faster, and avoids errors on installation", says a satisfied Rotenhagen.
